Very many thanks for all the comments and feedback I have received about this project.
Although we are all stuck at home, we do have the advantage that, as budding musicians, we can keep ourselves occupied by practicing our instruments.
Not quite the same, of course, as playing with others though,
The ultimate aim of this project is to develop a number of pieces that not only can you play along with, but over the course of the next few weeks, to be able to record yourself playing 'your part' and posting it up to me to do a complete 'mix'. That way, we may be able to put on a full-blown 'virtual' performance.
In the meantime, I am quietly working in the background working out how to set this all up and hope you appreciate that I am on a bit of a learning curve.
I cannot do this without your help, of course ! Please could you post on this forum any suggestions, comments on any of the practicalities you are finding? I am in the process of setting up a YouTube channel where, (so goes the plan), I will develop some guidance tutorials. If you have hit a road-block in some way, then it is likely so will others. That way, I can ensure I can correct any weaknesses in the system.
Thanks again - please do keep well and sane!
Brilliant having the CD John. Thanks so much for all your hard work.
I have had some feedback that members that do not have access to a "Windows" pc or laptop find it difficult to access / download the music.
To work around this, I can now produce the music, not just in .mp3 format but in audio format recorded on a CD that is playable on any system (Hi-fi etc.).
So, if you would like a copy of all the pieces on a CD, please contact me. (Because of the restricted 'space' on an audio CD I will include just the 'all instruments playing' tracks.)
Great choice James, I find this such a moving piece even with the digital sounds.
I have recently added a couple of new pieces, including one arranged for SNO by our Jenny The Cello. "Trumpet Tune". Also please take a peek at another YouTube offering from me:

This contains some guidance on how to record yourself playing your part ! Have fun....
A Post About Posting
A couple of members have flagged up that they do not have access to a printer. So, having had a chat with Kelvin we have come up with a cunning plan!

We will keep the costs down by:

Each printed side 5p
+ optional voluntary donation as you see fit and can afford. All proceeds to SNO.
